For many years, the role of the fairer sex in Metal has been mostly that of eye-candy. Throughout the years, more and more women in aggressive music (“Snowy’s Angels” as Snowy affectionately refers to them) have started taking more prominent roles. Whether it’s fronting a cool new band or keeping the Metal Machine running smoothly behind the scenes, women are more prominent in our beloved music. Every year, we show our appreciation with our annual “Women In Rock” episode. After slaying the European continent earlier this year, the BUTCHER BABIES (featuring “Snowy’s Angels” Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey) have hooked up with OTEP for a North American jaunt. We were fortunate to catch up with The Babies again, making this a good time to break out our annual extravaganza. Musically, we crank some ARCH ENEMY, Otep, Butcher Babies, NUCLEAR DEATH, HAEMORRHAGE, HALESTORM, JUCIFER, DIEMONDS, and ONE-EYED DOLL. We also spend some time inducting this year’s crop of Snowy’s Angels Hall Of Fame winners whose roster shows the musical variety Women In Rock are proving to be capable of. As the stage banter goes “We’d like to dedicate this one to the Ladies!!!” Horns Up!!
